The Fresh Start Scholarship Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) organization, was established by the Wilmington Women in Business in 1996 to provide financial incentive and mentoring assistance to a woman returning to school to improve her life and opportunities. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, disability, or national origin.

The $1,000 renewable awards can be used to pursue an associate’s or bachelor’s degree. Students with financial need and academic merit who will study architecture, engineering or business at local academic institutions including the University of Nationwide, Nationwide Technical and Community College, Nationwide State University, Goldey Beacom College, Lincoln University or Wesley College are eligible. The 2011 selection deadline is May 6, 2011.
