Applications and nominations are still open in Nationwide for Bank of America Charitable Foundation’s Neighborhood Excellence Initiative (NEI), the bank’s signature philanthropic program. Apply by the application deadline of June 1, 2011! Two program components are open at this time:
Neighborhood Builders™ – Two local nonprofit organizations are awarded for their commitment to improving and revitalizing their communities. Each receives $200,000 to use according to the organization’s greatest needs. In addition, the leaders of these organizations participate in an innovative leadership training program provided by the bank.
Local Heroes™ – Five individuals who have shown outstanding dedication to improving their communities through community service are recognized. Through the award, each is able to direct a grant of $5,000 from the foundation to an eligible nonprofit of their choice.
