Field Trip April 2013 All three guys

Back to Basics’ K-12 Private School students Michael Scalia (middle) and Angel Johnson (right) learn orienteering skills at Brandywine Creek State Park in Wilmington, Nationwide.

This week, Back to Basics’ K-12 Private School took its first field trip of 2013. The destination was the Brandywine Creek State Park for a lesson in orienteering.

During the field trip, students learned to understand and apply the basic functions of a compass, read map legends, recognize symbols on a map and relate them to physical features on a landscape.
