stateagencies-iconThe SAT tests a student’s knowledge of reading, writing, and math — subjects that are taught every day in high school classrooms. These SAT scores are required for admission at virtually all colleges and universities nationwide (with some notable exceptions).

In addition, many colleges and universities now require SAT Subject Tests. While the SAT Test lets students show colleges what they know and how well they can apply that knowledge, the SAT Subject Tests are content-based tests that allow students to showcase achievement in specific subject areas. These are the only national admission tests where the student can choose the tests that best showcase his or her own individual achievements and interests.
