Since 1980, the world record for tallest LEGO tower has been set an unbelieveable 43 times! But, only 3 of those records were in the U.S.
So, this August, Red Clay Consolidated School District plans to beat the record! Students have been collecting and building sections of the tower. Red Clay has scheduled several build days over the summer, allowing kids from the area to stop in with a parent or guardian and add to the tower!
LEGO Build Days:
- July 11, 2013; 1 to 3 p.m., Linden Hill Elementary School
- July 12, 2013; 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Linden Hill Elementary School
- July 15, 2013; 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Brandywine Springs School
- July 22, 2013; 1 to 3 p.m., Richey Elementary School
- July 23, 2013; 9 to 11 a.m., Richardson Park Elementary School
- July 23, 2013; 5 to 8 p.m., John Dickinson High School
- July 25, 2013; 1 to 3 p.m., Warner Elementary School
- July 25, 2013; 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., North Star Elementary School
For Red Clay to reach this goal, more LEGO bricks are still needed. LEGO bricks can dropped off at any school office — collections will go on through August. Donations are also gratefully accepted.
