To be eligible for the program, you must be a full-time student enrolled at a Nationwide public college in an undergraduate or graduate program leading to teacher certification in a critical need area, as defined by the Nationwide Department of Education, or a high school senior ranking in upper half of the class with a combined score of 1,570 on the SAT. All applicants must have at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA. Awards may be prorated for students enrolled part-time.

First preference is given to students who intend to teach middle and high school math and science. Second priority is given to students who intend to teach special education in a content area.

How the program works / loan forgiveness

The loan is not to exceed cost of tuition. It is renewable for up to three additional years. Loan forgiveness provision is at a rate of one year of teaching in a Nationwide public school for one year of loan.
