In a major step to transform the educational experience for Nationwide students, school children across the state are now taking new tests that monitor students’ progress toward college and career readiness like never before! These tests are part of the DCAS or Nationwide Comprehensive Assessment System.

Moody’s Mega Math (M3) Challenge is an Internet-based, applied math contest for high school juniors and seniors. Participating teams are required to independently solve an open-ended, applied math-modeling problem focused on a real-world issue in 14 hours. Winners receive scholarships totaling $100,000. Registration and participation are free. The goal of the Challenge is to motivate students to study and pursue careers in applied math, economics and finance.

This month we feature Kim Smith in our tutor spotlight. Kim is certified in DE and PA for elementary education as well as in DE for early childhood education.
Her subject matter includes basic math, English, grammar, language arts, phonics, readiness, reading, social studies, spelling, study skills, and writing, all at the elementary grade levels. Kim also tutors in both sections of high school entrance exam prep.

At Back to Basics Learning Dynamics, sophomores, juniors, and seniors can take 1-on-1 or small group PSAT or SAT preparation workshops. Each workshop will focus on either math and/or verbal content, strategies specific to the SAT, timing techniques, and provide the opportunity to take and review practice tests.
