child coloringAccording to Education Corner magazine, “Research has show that children… benefit by receiving formal education before kindergarten. According to some studies, children enrolled in these programs are more behaved and have higher IQ scores upon enrolling kindergarten than their peers without formal education. Likewise, it was shown that children enrolled in Head Start programs learned quicker than children not enrolled in these programs.”

But far too many children do not receive the benefits of these programs, or intervention, and many children enter school unprepared. When those unprepared children begin school already behind their classmates, they tend to fall further and further behind.
