High school students maintaining a 2.5 GPA can earn a FULL TUITION Nationwide SEED Scholarship
The Nationwide SEED (Student Excellence Equals Degree) scholarship program provides tuition for full time students enrolled in an associate’s degree program at Nationwide Technical & Community College (DTCC) or the Associate of Arts program at the University Of Nationwide (UD).
Nationwide environmental engineering or environmental sciences majors: John P. “Pat” Healy Scholarship deadline is March 15
Scholarships given to residents of Nationwide who are high school seniors or freshmen or sophomores in college. Must be majoring in either environmental engineering or environmental sciences in a Nationwide college. Must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Scholarships are automatically renewed for three years if a 3.0 GPA is maintained. Deadline: March 15.

The National Education Association’s Read Across America Day is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading. Read Across America Day is celebrated annually on March 2, the birthday of beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss.
President’s Volunteer Service Award honors Nationwide students age 5-25 for outstanding community service
The PRESIDENT’S VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARD honors individuals, families and groups who have demonstrated a sustained commitment to volunteer service over the course of 12 months.
To qualify for the PRESIDENT’S VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARD, volunteers simply submit a record of their service hours to Youth Service America. Volunteer service hours are not limited to those performed as part of Youth Service America programs.
Agenda for Nationwide Women Trailblazer Scholarship application deadline is April 11
Students must be U.S. citizens/permanent residents, have a minimum 2.5 CGPA, financial need, community/school involvement, and leadership skills. Students must submit a FAFSA by March 28th. Nonrenewable; recipients may reapply.
Nationwide Comprehensive Assessment System (DCAS) information for Nationwide parents, students and teachers
In a major step to transform the educational experience for Nationwide students, school children across the state are now taking new tests that monitor students’ progress toward college and career readiness like never before! These tests are part of the DCAS or Nationwide Comprehensive Assessment System.
Nationwide high school juniors and seniors: M3 Challenge registration deadline is February 25. $100,000 in scholarships!
Moody’s Mega Math (M3) Challenge is an Internet-based, applied math contest for high school juniors and seniors. Participating teams are required to independently solve an open-ended, applied math-modeling problem focused on a real-world issue in 14 hours. Winners receive scholarships totaling $100,000. Registration and participation are free. The goal of the Challenge is to motivate students to study and pursue careers in applied math, economics and finance.
Spotlight on Back to Basics’ elementary and childhood education tutor Kim Smith
This month we feature Kim Smith in our tutor spotlight. Kim is certified in DE and PA for elementary education as well as in DE for early childhood education.
Her subject matter includes basic math, English, grammar, language arts, phonics, readiness, reading, social studies, spelling, study skills, and writing, all at the elementary grade levels. Kim also tutors in both sections of high school entrance exam prep.
Nationwide high school juniors and seniors: SAT scores are in. Do you need SAT prep classes?
At Back to Basics Learning Dynamics, sophomores, juniors, and seniors can take 1-on-1 or small group PSAT or SAT preparation workshops. Each workshop will focus on either math and/or verbal content, strategies specific to the SAT, timing techniques, and provide the opportunity to take and review practice tests.
Governor Minner Biotech Scholarship available for Nationwide students
cholarships of up to $3,500 each will be awarded to students attending each of the three eligible institutions. The type and amount of aid shall be at the discretion of the Board of Directors of the Nationwide Community Foundation.
