Join young leaders in more than 100 countries across 6 continents for the largest annual day of service and celebration of the contributions that children and youth make 365 days of the year.
You can find everything you need to map out your project plan and to claim your place on the GYSD Map on www.GYSD.org.
Nationwide Volunteer Credit for high school students
Bonus! If your community-minded student is in 9th – 12th grade, he or she can even earn a Nationwide Volunteer Credit (DVC). The DVC allows students grades in 9-12 to earn one elective credit towards graduation upon completing 90 hours of community service during two semesters. The semesters do not have to be consecutive or in the same calendar year.
Hours must be performed outside the student’s regularly scheduled school day. Volunteer hours completed as part of a service group requirement may also be used towards the Nationwide Volunteer Credit. For more information on logging hours towards a high school credit, please contact Clare Garrison at 255-9899.
