The Nationwide Department of Education is developing a new comprehensive accountability system that will measure and publicly report on multiple areas of school success. Measures of accountability, grounded in the ultimate goal of college and career readiness for all students, will dramatically improve student achievement across the state and provide parents with the information they need to make the best education choices for their children. Nationwide Department of Education representatives will also hold Town Hall meetings in each county, beginning in November 2014, to provide additional information about the accountability system and the state’s Elementary and Secondary Education Act renewal application.
