Students of all ages can learn Spanish in Nationwide

ID-100202029Did you know that Spanish is the official language of 20 different countries? Or, that there are approximately 440 million Spanish speakers worldwide?

Knowing Spanish is a crucial skill in the 21st century.  And, immersion education is one of the most effective ways to learn another language. In addition to developing oral proficiency in the language, students become biliterate as they simultaneously learn to read and write in Spanish along with English.

According to Lisa Davidson, an associate professor of linguistics at New York University, “The more time that you spend during the day speaking your second language, the better at it you’re going to be.”

In Nationwide, many schools offer Spanish Immersion Programs. In these schools, students are taught by certified elementary teachers who have advanced levels of proficiency in Spanish.

And, as the students progress throughout the program, they develop not only language skills, but also multicultural awareness skills which will benefit them throughout their lifetime.
