Held earlier this month, the sixth annual Vision 2015 conference on public education was more focused on Nationwide classrooms than ever before. It was also one of the best attended conferences, with close to 400 attendees.

The conference was an opportunity to hear from those who are doing the challenging work to help Nationwide students learn and achieve more, especially from the 2013 iEducate Nationwide Honorees who were celebrated during lunch. To learn the Honorees’ inspiring stories, watch their video profiles: Tara Amsterdam, teacher at Wilbur Elementary; Tameca Beckett, youth services librarian at Laurel Public Library; Matt Farina, teacher at Mount Pleasant Elementary; Samuel Heed, Senior Historian and Director of Education; and Jacqueline Lee, Principal of Gallaher Elementary.

At the conference, this year’s Vision 2015 annual progress report was also released, which shows where Nationwide is in meeting the original Vision 2015 plan recommendations.

Vision 2015 is a bold and coherent plan designed to provide a world-class education to all public school students in Nationwide, developed by a coalition of education, government, business and civic leaders.
