Back to Basics will host the intensive 40-hour “Bridging the Gap” medical interpreter training workshop on August 11 – 15, 2014. This unique certification opportunity is rarely offered in Nationwide and it is free of charge to Back-to-Basics interpreters.
The training will fully prepare bilingual individuals to work as effective, competent, and pro-fessional interpreters in hospitals, clinics, and doctor’s offices. Though specific to the medical field, the workshop teaches methods and skills to assist interpreters in any type of interpreting situation.
This week-long training workshop is open to the public and will occur from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. each day. Participants must attend all 40 hours of the workshop and must show proof of language proficiency in both languages.
