These scholarships are for male and female undergraduate students who are currently enrolled in an accredited college or university. To qualify for these scholarships, applicants must be US citizens or legal US residents. Students who have already obtained a bachelor’s degree are not eligible.

To apply for these scholarships, applicants must submit an essay on a given topic related to the following theme: “Creating Effective Leadership for the 21st Century: Popular Culture and Positive Role Models for Women and Girls,” in correlation with a half-day conference presented by Womenetics.

Essay topics are:

  • Gender Stereotypes
  • Children and Role Models
  • Female Self-worth and Body Image Around the World
  • Women and Perceptions of Ability, Success and Power
  • Women in Media Leadership

In addition to the scholarship money, contest winners will be invited on an expense-paid trip to attend the event. Applicants are invited to enter both the U.S. Bank and Discover prizes; however, if selected for one prize, the student is automatically ineligible for the other.
